Do you love your mother? Does she do everything she can for you? Do you treat her right? Are you sure she REALLY is your mother? Are you sure she isn’t a supernatural entity? That is the intriguing and, quite frankly, scary premise for the latest horror movie from Universal Pictures, Blumhouse Productions, and Atomic Monster. The film, Other Mommy, will hit screens on October 9th. In addition, it features a cast that is led by Oscar-winner Jessica Chastain. The film promises scares, thrills, and frights that will make us all jump out of our skins. This will happen as we head towards Halloween. Not convinced? THE PREMISE AND CAST

From producer James Wan, one of the most influential architects of modern horror, and Blumhouse Atomic Monster, the studio behind Backrooms and Obsession, comes a terrifying trip from breakout genre director Rob Savage. This adventure enters the darkening world of a young girl, Bela. She forms a relationship with a sinister entity in her home. This entity looks uncannily like her own mother.
Academy Award winner Jessica Chastain (It Chapter Two, The Eyes of Tammy Faye) stars in dual roles as Bela’s mother and as “Other Mommy,” a manifestation of the entity. Jay Duplass (Transparent, Industry) plays Daddo, Bela’s father. Furthermore, Arabella Olivia Clark (The Housemaid, The Hand that Rocks the Cradle) plays Bela.
The impressive supporting cast includes Actor Award nominee Dichen Lachman (Severance). Also, Emmy and Tony Award nominee Arian Moayed (Succession) appears. In addition, screen legend Karen Allen (Indiana Jones films) is included.
CREW
Other Mommy, directed by Rob Savage (known for Host and The Boogeyman), brings to life a screenplay by WGA Award winner Nathan Elston. He has made waves as a writer for the Emmy-winning sensation Succession. This film adapts the gripping narrative from Josh Malerman’s New York Times bestselling novel, Incidents Around the House (author of Bird Box).
James Wan, p.g.a. (celebrated for the Saw, Insidious, and Conjuring franchises), leads the production at Blumhouse Atomic Monster. The team behind the film also includes executive producers Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Rob Savage, Josh Malerman, and Ryan Lewis, all contributing to this thrilling project.
