NECA’s Universal Monsters collection is expanding with Boris Karloff’s Monster from The Son of Frankenstein.
It’s been a minute since we’ve had a new Universal Monsters figure from NECA to get excited about. After a slew of quality figures of characters like The Wolf Man, Dracula, The Mummy, the Creature From the Black Lagoon and Frankenstein’s Monster, fans could be forgiven for thinking the well had run dry. But today, all that changes.
The toy giant has unveiled a first look at its upcoming Son of Frankenstein figure, and it’s already shaping up to be another must-have for Universal Monsters collectors. Like NECA’s previous releases, the stunning figure captures Boris Karloff’s unmistakable likeness with incredible accuracy, bringing his legendary Monster from the 1939 horror classic to life in spectacular fashion. Better yet, it comes complete with the creature’s iconic winter outfit, faithfully recreating the look that helped him brave the icy elements in the unforgettable black-and-white film. Sadly, NECA is still keeping us in suspense over whether Frankenstein’s Monster will be released in both classic black-and-white and full-color editions, just like the rest of the Universal Monsters line. But considering every other Monster has received the double treatment, we’d be shocked if Boris Karloff’s iconic creature didn’t follow suit.
For now, the finer details remain locked away in the laboratory, but we won’t have to wait much longer. Pre-orders go live on August 7, so get ready to throw the switch and bring Boris Karloff’s legendary Monster back to life in your horror collection!
