John Steinbeck’s novel East Of Eden is, perhaps, his most ambitious. It details the lives of two families, the Trasks and the Hamiltons. Their interwoven stories are central. The Hamilton family in the novel is modeled after Samuel Hamilton’s real-life family. Notably, Samuel Hamilton happens to be Steinbeck’s maternal grandfather. A young Steinbeck also makes a brief appearance as a minor character in the story. The novel has seen multiple adaptations for the stage, screen, and television. Now, a new version is on the way.
Today, Netflix unveiled the trailer for the upcoming fresh interpretation of Steinbeck’s classic, EAST OF EDEN. This adaptation is by Zoe Kazan, Executive Producer & Co-Showrunner alongside Jeb Stuart. This limited series spans generations of the Trask family. It stars Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, Hoon Lee, Joseph Zada, Joe Anders, and Florence Pugh as the ultimate antihero, Cathy Ames.
