A new official trailer for Martin McDonagh’s Wild Horse Nine just launched, and film enthusiasts should take note! The movie hits UK and Ireland cinemas on 4 November and promises an engaging mix of black comedy and action thriller. Starring John Malkovich, Sam Rockwell, Steve Buscemi, Tom Waits, and Parker Posey, this fictional dark comedy/satire is set against a real historical backdrop. Want to know what’s in store? The film has earned many five-star reviews from The Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail, The Times, and Time Out. Moreover, Deadline has called it one of the best films of the year.
THE PREMISE
Shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup, CIA agents Chris (John Malkovich) and Lee (Sam Rockwell) head from Santiago to Easter Island. Their bureau chief, MJ (Steve Buscemi), sends them. Amidst the Island’s iconic statues, the longtime partners confront their dark pasts and navigate present conspiracies. Meanwhile, as Chris forms a bond with two rebellious students (Mariana di Girolamo and AilÃn Salas), their trip to this remote paradise takes an unexpected turn.

With a screenplay by McDonagh, the film reunites the writer-director with Searchlight Pictures, Blueprint Pictures and Film4. This follows their collaboration on the 9-time Academy Award-nominated The Banshees of Inisherin. The producers are Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin, McDonagh, and Anita Overland.
