The Box Office Top 10 | The UK Top 10 (9-11 Oct)

The UK Box Office Top 10 has landed! Who’s ruling the box office, who’s climbing the charts, and who’s been knocked off the throne? Ready to see who made the cut? Let’s roll the credits!

Welcome to the Official UK Box Office Top 10—your home for the latest box office chart and the biggest films lighting up UK cinemas. From horrors to magical family favorites and must-see new releases, here’s a look at the movies audiences are flocking to this week.

(1) Other Mommy

Jessica Chastain’s latest horror film, Other Mommy, has been released in cinemas, grossing £1,969,622. Despite the negative reaction, it opened alright and will help the film become profitable overall.

(2) Verity

In its second weekend, Verity opened to £1,936,358, almost being the top film for the weekend. It dropped 44% from the previous weekend and has a total gross so far of £7,302,828.

(3) Heart Of The Beast

Still sniffing around the box office, Heart Of The Beast dropped a total of 29% to £815,453. The dog is going strong at the box office, with good legs.

(4) Resident Evil

Resident Evil is staying strong in its fourth weekend of release, for a total of £780,925. Its overall total is now £12,710,019, proving itself a hit with audiences.

(5) The Social Reckoning

The Social Reckoning opened to a dismal number five spot, with a total of £621,262. This is a poor opening, especially as it opened in far more cinemas than its predecessor, The Social Network. Only one company will be happy with the audience’s disinterest, and that’s Meta.

(6) Sense And Sensibility

Sense and Sensibility continued to pack in the punters. The film offers a romantic alternative to the horror, action, and satire fare currently playing in multiplexes. Whether the film can keep climbing into next week remains to be seen.

(7) The Uprising

The Uprising opened to £541,444, a small total. The film’s confused marketing likely didn’t help audiences find this film, as it was touted as a historical film and a Robin Hood origin story.

(8) Shaun The Sheep: The Beast Of Mossy Bottom

Shaun The Sheep: The Beast Of Mossy Bottom dropped only 11% in its fourth weekend, for a total of £492,146. Its overall total is £3,800,806, not bad for this British icon.

(9) Digger

Tom Cruise’s Digger slid to number nine this weekend, with a total of £489,167. It dropped only 55%, which isn’t too bad for a blockbuster of its size, but the low total really hurt the film.

(10) The Odyssey

The Odyssey jumped a huge 72% from last weekend, putting it back in the top ten. Its total came to £261,148, bringing its overall total to £87,453,854. It will fall out of the box office top ten next weekend, but making the list for its 13th weekend is impressive.

Center L to R: Jimmy Gonzales is Cepheus, Matt Damon is Odysseus and Himesh Patel is Eurylochus in THE ODYSSEY, written, produced, and directed by Christopher Nolan.

Next weekend brings Forgotten Island, Street Fighter and the underwater thriller Whalefall to cinemas.
