Padmé Amidala will return in an all-new novel from author E.K Johnson
With the Star Wars fanbase still reeling from the news that Dave Filoni and his incredible team at Lucasfilm are returning to finish The Clone Wars, one can be forgiven for needing time to come to terms with the news. However, the Star Wars universe works in mysterious ways and at the Star Wars panel at San Diego Comic-Con Lucasfilm went one better and announced the imminent arrival of two new Star Wars novels from the prequel era.
The first novel is a long overdue solo outing for Padmé Amidala and will be written by international best-selling author E.K Johnson (Ahsoka). A release date has yet to be announced but boasting a title like Queen’s Shadow, it’s safe to say that the book will practically sell itself.
If that wasn’t enough to send the fans into a delirium, Lucasfilm went on to announce a second new novel. Master and Apprentice will be a prequel novel based on the relationship between Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi and will be written by Star Wars regular Claudia Gray.
Again, no release dates were forthcoming so stay tuned to Future of the Force for updates. Either way, the Clone Wars era is returning to prominence. What with Battlefront II adding new Clone Wars DLC, The Clone Wars TV series returning to our screens and all new prequel era novel set to come it would seem the prequel era is here to stay.
Thank the Force.
