Kennedy extends her reign as head of Lucasfilm until 2021
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that President of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy has renewed her contract for three additional years extending her reign up until 2021.
Her appointment by the Godfather of Star Wars, George Lucas was heralded as a triumph for the fans in the aftermath of the sale of Lucasfilm to Disney, but in recent years her decisions have come under scrutiny from a pocket of disgruntled fans.
However despite the controversies, we have seen four colossal new motion picture releases grossing a total of almost $4.5 billion at the worldwide box office, a number of new tv shows, all-new comics and an abundance of new Star Wars themed novels.
Her custodianship of Lucasfilm has yielded unswerving results and the fans can rest assured that the Star Wars saga remains in safe hands.
