Thomas gets hands-on with the superb Black Series General Grievous action figure from Hasbro
General Grievous is the first Deluxe figure being released by Hasbro. It’s not an exclusive and should be available in Spring in most toy stores. Grievous is quite a tall character so he couldn’t fit in the basic blister of the main Black Series line hence why Hasbro decided to create this Deluxe line. He’s listed as 01 so this most likely means more figures are on the way, hopefully, it will include some characters with their creatures (for example Embo and his Anooba Marrock).
General Grievous is the first of many Prequel characters being released this year in Hasbro’s Black Series range and it is long overdue! We need more Prequel figures! I was very excited about this one when he was announced but also worried about how they would make the four arms/two arms system work. Thankfully, my fears have been swept away when I received the figure. The system Hasbro came up with the four arms/two arms for Grievous is excellent, it works just fine, you simply have to interlock the arms.
And because Grievous can have four arms, this figure is the most articulated figure in the Black Series line – 30 points of articulation! It’s exactly what was needed for this one! Plus, the figure stands on its own perfectly, unlike IG-88 so I’m hopeful it will be the same for the Battle Droid coming in April!
The figure is screen accurate except for the cape, there’s no symbol on it, unlike the one you can see in Revenge Of The Sith. That’s my only complaint about this figure … well, there is actually a second one, the blaster doesn’t hold well in his hands but that’s not really important. They even used the digital print tech for the eyes!
General Grievous comes with 4 lightsabers, a fabric cape and a blaster pistol.

Final Thoughts:
This General Grievous Black Series figure is simply excellent, I have nothing else to add!
