The Batman director takes to social media to welcome our new Dark Knight

Last week, we brought you the news that Robert Pattinson had finally won the race to become the new Caped Crusader in Matt Reeves hotly anticipated The Batman. The report confirmed the deal was done, the ink was dry, and Warner Bros. had got their man. And last night, Matt Reeves took to social media to welcome his new Dark Knight to the role.

The Caped Crusader‘s relaunch is expected to begin filming this Autumn with a release date set for June 25th, 2021. The original story came from Deadline and Variety, who both confirmed that Warner Bros. made the call after Pattinson screen tested the famous Batsuit. According to sources close to the deal, Pattinson was always the front runner to land the role and will now slip into the cape and cowl after negotiating what is expected to be a two-picture deal with the option of a third.
