Annlyel continues her series focussing on the best moment from every instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
The Avengers was the first Marvel movie I watched and legitimately enjoyed. Seeing six heroes come together to stop a horrifying alien invasion from outer space led by a maniacal immortal being was one of the coolest things that I had ever witnessed at the time. And it has been proven, thanks to Justice League and the countless failed X-Men movies, that bringing more than one hero into one movie wasn’t as easy a feat as it seemed. The Avengers would go on to being one of the highest-grossing films of all time with 1.5 billion dollars made. Now it seems like a small amount compared to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame which has both made north of 2 billion! dollars but hey, at the time The Avengers was as good it as it got in terms of box-office achievements.
There’s much to love about The Avengers, making choosing a favorite moment so much harder, but I’m going to give it a try. Here we go.
I think I’d have to say my favorite moment in the movie is literally when we get the iconic 360 camera loop around the Avengers with the “Avengers” theme (composed by Alan Silvestri) blaring in the background. There’s something so magical and chill-inducing about that scene that it’s really one of the best moments in the franchise.
If the “Avengers Assemble” moment in Avengers: Endgame wasn’t so freaking INCREDIBLE it would probably still reign supreme in terms of highlighting The Avengers in the most awesome way.
This scene, in fact, is SO great that I couldn’t help getting excited seeing it brought back to life in Avengers: Endgame. These heroes were the first ones to protect the universe. And they did a great job. To know how far they’ve come…gosh I can’t think about it otherwise I’ll start getting emotional.
So yeah, this is definitely, to me, the best moment in the movie.
Next stop, Iron Man 3.
