Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi will return for Marvel Studios’ Phase 4
In case you missed it, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Thor Ragnarock director Taika Waititi is set to come back and direct the next film currently known only as Thor 4. Not much is known about the latest instalment into the Marvel except that Chris Hemsworth is set to reprise his role as the Norse God of Thunder.
Prior to this announcement, Waititi was all set to direct a Japanese Manga adapted project known as Akira. He was already testing actors for various roles and the film already had a release date of May 21, 2021. With the two projects butting heads in his production schedule, he knew he had to pick one and thus went with Thor. What this means for Akira is that it is in indefinite hold until Waititi either comes back to the project or it finds another director. According to reports, Warner Bros, the studio producing the film is keen to have him back on the project as soon as he finishes Thor 4. Only time will tell if that actually happens.

Feel the Force on Social Media.I am a major “Star Wars” fan who currently writes for Future of the Force and is absolutely loving it! Until my writing career really takes off, I am now writing for Future of the Force full time, having graduated Spring 2018 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Literature and Writing.
My other interests include ABC’s “The Good Doctor”, CW’s “Arrow” and “The Flash”, and DC’s “Batman”. Of all the iterations of Batman, my favorite would definitely have to be 1992’s “Batman: The Animated Series”.
