Far From Home is Officially Spider-Man's Highest Grossing Movie

Our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man hits it big at the global box office

Spider-Man has never had an issue with packing fans into auditoriums and making them part with their hard-earned cash. And, his latest adventure Spider-Man Far From Home is no different. In fact, it’s better because Tom Holland’s second solo outing as the wall-crawling web-head will be the first Spidey flick to exceed the $1 Billion dollar mark.

The whopping sum puts Far From Home almost $100 million above the $890 million total of the prior highest grosser, Spider-Man 3, a movie which was lambasted for its poor portrayal of some of Spider-Man’s most traditional tropes and enemies. Thankfully, Far From Home had the benefit of following hot on the heels of Avengers Endgame, which has since gone on to become the highest-grossing motion picture of all-time. Audiences flocked to the cinema to watch the post-Endgame Marvel Universe begin to take shape and loved every second of Spidey’s struggle with taking on the mantle of becoming the new Iron Man.

Far From Home was a perfect conclusion to the Marvel’s Phase 3 and served to usher in a new era of the most lucrative universe on the planet. The post-credit sequences alone were enough to tease bigger and better things looming on the horizon, and with Black Widow, Eternals and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness all set to follow, things are about to get downright dark in the MCU.

The success of Spider-Man Far From Home is a true testament to the might of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and when you consider that Far From Home is set to become the fifth out of the last six Marvel movies to surpass the $1 Billion mark at the box office you get a real sense that there is no stopping the MCU!

Spider-Man Far From Home is still playing in cinemas around the world now.
