DCEU | The Flash Movie is 'Absolutely Confirmed' Says Ezra Miller

The speed force is gearing up to deliver The Flash movie…sometime!

Remember when the DC Universe was a simple place?

Ben Affleck was the Dark Knight, Henry Cavill was Superman, Jason Momoa was cast as Aquaman, Ezra Miller slipped into the aerodynamic suit of the Scarlet Speedster and Gal Gadot set the screen ablaze with her marvellous performance as Diana Prince.

Damn, I miss the simple days!

What happened next was a complete disintegration of the current universe as we know it. Zack Snyder departed his unfinished Justice League movie paving the way for Joss Whedon to swoop in to destroy it with his abysmal re-shoots, Ben Affleck grew disillusioned and hung up the bat cowl forever, and to top it all off, Henry Cavill’s relationship with Warner Bros. hit the rocks. Boom! Coming back from that is a tall order, but thankfully Warner Bros. navigated through the turbulent seas and emerged with a string of hits in Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Shazam. But what happened to the proposed Flash movie starring Ezra Miller?

At one point, The Flash was slated to zoom across our screens sometime in 2020, but after losing multiple directors and re-writing the script a dozen times, the project seemed to be on the verge of fading back into the Speed Force. But fear not Flash fans because Ezra Miller has zoomed into the fray to give us update, and the news is good.

While speaking with W Korea, a fashion, beauty and lifestyle outlet Miller confirmed that The Flash movie is “Absolutely Confirmed”:

“Well, I’ll tell you the ones that I can tell you about because they’re absolutely confirmed,” Miller said. “They are Fantastic Beasts 3… The Flash movie… I’m making more music with Sons of an Illustrious Father, the band I’m in. And I’m also making some music on my own.”

Despite not going into detail about the movie or its current shooting schedule, this is positive news. The Flash has been in danger of being left behind in the race to get DC’s mightiest heroes to the screen, and with The Batman, Wonder Woman 1984, Joker, Birds of Prey: And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn, The Suicide Squad, The Trench and Aquaman 2 all headed our way in the next four years, finding a spot for the Scarlet Speeder is going to be a tough ask. But the character deserves his time to shine. Miller’s Flash was one of the better components in the car crash that was Justice League and I cannot wait to see Miller slip into costume once again and tackle the evildoers of the DC Universe.

The big mystery is when?
