Annlyel explores the three Marvel legends which could make an appearance Scarlett Johansson’s upcoming Black Widow movie
Since Iron Man 2 fans have been pining for Black Widow to get her own standalone film. Time and time again the prospect has been broached but never brought to fruition…until now. The excitement was already growing for the Black Widow film, then Natasha Romanoff shockingly died in Avengers: Endgame leaving a sour taste in many fans’ mouths, but our excitement was rekindled after San Diego Comic-Con and D23 Expo where we were given some rather exciting information regarding the Black Widow prequel.
While the film still undergoes filming tidbits are starting to leak through the grapevine and it seems Black Widow may be even greater than we first imagined. Because it is a prequel and it’s set after the events of Captain America: Civil War it is very plausible that we could see some returning favorite characters in the mix. Here are three characters that would make some delightful and worthy additions to the long-awaited film.
Hawkeye and Black Widow are like peanut butter and jelly. They’re a perfect pairing and understand one another more than anyone else. We’ve seen their friendship grow (and come to a devastating end) but we nothing about how their friendship began beyond small bits and pieces sprinkled throughout the movies. If Black Widow is going to finally give us a complete understanding of her character and her past Hawkeye has to play a major part in that story, meaning we could very well see Jeremy Renner return for a cameo appearance or a small role in the film, which I would greatly appreciate.
Saturday night, rumours broke that Robert Downey Jr. would reportedly reprise his role as Iron Man one last time for Black Widow and, expectedly, I got excited. The prospect of seeing Iron Man one more time on the big screen is always a thrilling thought, even if it slightly waters down his incredible sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame.
Of course, it’s not official, and who knows what his role in the film could be, but the thought is truly exciting stuff.
And since Iron Man is expected to return for yet another movie when we expected never to see him again what says Captain America can’t make a cameo appearance as well? With Black Widow set after Captain America: Civil War and before Avengers: Infinity War, the movie will eventually set up Black Widow’s transition into becoming a Secret Avenger by the end of the film. So…could we see Natasha Romanoff teaming up with a bearded Captain America at the end of the movie as an exciting lead-up into the events of Infinity War where she is a part of the secret superteam? I definitely think so.
Not only would it be great to see Cap again but it would fun and truly thrilling way to end Black Widow.
All in all, Black Widow is sure to reveal plenty of surprises and I’m ready for the ride.
Who would you like to see appear in Black Widow? Drop us a line and share your thoughts.
