After what has felt like an eternity, details about Matt Reeves’ hotly anticipated The Batman is finally beginning to emerge and it relates to one of Batman’s greatest foes. Zoe Kravitz, star of Fantastic Beasts has been announced as the newest member of the cast fulfilling the role of Selina Kyle/Catwoman opposite Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne/Batman.
According to sources speaking to THR, the decision was made to cast her over the weekend after a successful screen test alongside the leading man.
Kravitz has been building a fantastic resume of late with fantastic roles in X-Men: First Class, Fantastic Beasts and The Lego Batman Movie (ironically playing Catwoman), but her casting in The Batman represents her biggest and most iconic role to date.
The Batman is rumoured to feature up-to six of Batman’s greatest foes, so watch this space for the latest casting news as it emerges. With things moving forward at a pace you can expect this to be the first of many cast announcements in the coming months.
