Pedro Pascal, Olivia Wilde, Eva Victor, and Will Arnett top the cast in Tony Gilroy’s Behemoth! Watch the new trailer for the Searchlight Pictures film here.
As we head toward the end of the movie year, we’re starting to see films that could be award nominees and winners. After this year’s BFI London Film Festival, those films are becoming clear frontrunners. One of them is writer/director Tony Gilroy’s Behemoth! The film is set to hit screens on December 4th. Featuring a possibly Oscar-nominated or even winning performance from Pedro Pascal, the film also features brilliant turns from Olivia Wilde, Eva Victor, and Will Arnett. A comedy-drama, the film looks at the return of a gifted cellist after 20 years of traveling. Searchlight Pictures is distributing the film and has today released a brand-new trailer for the upcoming film. Join in with the musicians as we take a look.
THE PREMISE
Gifted cellist Alex Serian (Pedro Pascal) returns home to Los Angeles after 20 years on the road. Music, which has been the constant, all-consuming river of his life, begins to carry Alex on an adventure that will change him forever.

OUR THOUGHTS
We saw the film at the BFI London Film Festival and loved it. Our editor, Phil Roberts, said this about the movie:
“Tony Gilroy’s #BEHEMOTH is nothing short of phenomenal. Pedro Pascal delivers a masterclass in this gripping, incredibly well-written and well-directed drama.
With a sensational score, tension-cutting comedy, and a poignant finale, Gilroy has delivered brilliance again.”
While I had this to say about it:
“#Behemoth! is a wonderfully entertaining, moving, emotional, and engaging film with a banging, killer soundtrack.
Pedro Pascal is brilliant in his role of Alex, and the whole film is a complete joy.
One for the top ten best films of the year.
Oscars are possible!”
I’ll go even further. To offset the drama, Olivia Wilde and Will Arnett are wonderfully and hilariously funny as Carol Spedding, Alex’s ex-girlfriend, and Andy Serian, Alex’s brother, respectively. Although we cannot give you a full review yet, we can confirm that the film is a wonderfully engaging, emotional, heartfelt, and highly entertaining one that will send audiences home happy.
Behemoth! opens in cinemas on December 4th. Look out for our review of the film, coming soon!
