Annlyel shares her favourite moment from Ron Howard’s stellar Star Wars spin-off
Solo: A Star Wars Story came out at a time when no one wanted it, which is a shame. The film isn’t exactly a bad movie, not in the slightest, but I have noticed that it is my least-watched Star Wars film.
I enjoyed this movie the first time I watched it. I even enjoyed it the next five times I watched it. But after a while, the magic it once possessed was gone and I was left feeling kind of bored with the film. Now do I want to see a Solo 2 or a Solo Disney+ series? Heck yeah. I think a second crack at this story would be more entertaining considering that we could maybe see Han’s relationship with Jabba the Hutt unfold in a way we’ve never had the chance to see before. But, of course, we’re talking about Solo here and what’s my favorite moment from this movie. And to be honest, it’s a really easy answer.
The Kessel Run sequence.
As someone who has always wanted to know what Han meant by running the Kessel Run in under twelve parsecs this scene utterly blew my mind. From the epic chase with the TIE Fighters to the horrifying encounter with the gargantuan Summa Verminoth, this sequence is Star Wars gold and well worth the wait.
Next, my favorite Star Wars movie of all time, Rogue One.
