Richard E. Grant to Join the Loki Disney Plus Series

The villain of ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Stop the press. Variety is reporting that British screen legend Richard E. Grant has joined the cast of Marvel Studios’ Disney Plus show, Loki in an unknown role.

Variety reports that Grant will be joining the series alongside Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Sophia Di Martino who make up the main cast. As is always the case with these announcements, the size of Grant’s role is unknown … those pesky NDA’s and all that, but the notion of Grant joining the MCU is an enticing prospect.

Five Returning Characters We Could Potentially See in the Loki Disney+ Series

Grant recently made his presence felt with a noteworthy performance as General Pryde in Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker and has been rewarded for his efforts with an invitation to join the MCU. Loki, meanwhile, has seen its release window change somewhat from Spring 2021 to “early 2021” as per outgoing Disney CEO Bob Iger.

The synopsis for the show is as follows:

LOKI – In Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Kate Herron directs and Michael Waldron is head writer.

Marvel’s Phase 4, of which Loki is a member, begins on May 1 with Black Widow and continues later this year with Falcon and the Winter Soldier, The Eternals, and WandaVision.
