In celebration of Star Wars Day, Annlyel reveals her all-time favorite Star Wars moment
Star Wars is chock-full of incredible moments via the movies and television shows. The task to try to pick a favorite moment for this exciting Star Wars day almost seems daunting…almost, however, there is one moment that stands above the rest. One moment that puts goosebumps on my goosebumps, makes me smile every time and fills my heart with joy due to the moment’s resounding epicness. That moment involves Luke Skywalker in The Last Jedi and his incredible use of the Force to create a mirage of himself in order to save the meager remnants of the Resistance.
Luke is one of the most heroic characters ever invented for cinema. He rose from the humble beginnings of a normal farm boy to becoming one of the greatest Jedi in the galaxy. That man that we had grown to love in the original trilogy was gone in The Last Jedi, replaced by a broken individual who was but a shell of his former self.
It was sad to see Luke Skywalker so beaten down and even more rewarding to see him take back his power and become the hero we all knew he could be. Watching him stand tall in front of the gigantic walkers staring right back at him, seeing him distract and easily handle his former pupil Kylo Ren, and to learn that he did all of this long-distance?! It was INCREDIBLE! Absolutely incredible.
From the first time I’ve seen this moment to the last, it has never dwindled in awesomeness and I don’t expect it to anytime soon.
May the 4th be with you!
