Rejoice Percy Jackson fans – an all-new multi-series adaptation is heading to Disney+
At long last, Percy Jackson fans finally have something to celebrate. It has been revealed that Disney+ is officially developing a Percy Jackson series adaptation. Book series author Rick Riodan announced the exciting news on Twitter on Thursday night alongside his wife Becky. Check out his post below:

While details about the series are slim, Riodan confirmed that season one of the hotly anticipated series will be devoted exclusively to the original book, The Lightning Thief. Hopefully, this all points to the series consisting of a five-season story arc featuring all five novels.
“We are very excited about the idea of a live-action series of the highest quality, following the storyline of the original Percy Jackson five-book series, starting with The Lightning Thief in season one,” Riordan wrote on Twitter. The author then promised fans of the five-book series that his wife, Becky, would be directly involved “in person in every aspect of the show.”
Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief follows twelve-year-old Percy Jackson on the most dangerous quest of his life. With the help of a satyr and a daughter of Athena, Percy must journey across the United States to catch a thief who has stolen the original weapon of mass destruction — Zeus’ master bolt. Along the way, he must face a host of mythological enemies determined to stop him. Most of all, he must come to terms with a father he has never known, and an Oracle that has warned him of betrayal by a friend.
So, exciting times ahead for Percy Jackson fans, and I, for one am fully on board. As a fan of Ray Harryhausen‘s glorious movies, the notion of another round of tales devoted to the legends of Greek mythology is most welcome.
Bravo Disney Plus!
