After days of speculation – the real reason behind her departure is more simplistic than we thought!
Since the news emerged about her departure from the role of Batwoman, speculation has been mounting about the real reason Ruby Rose chose to hang up the cape and cowl after just one season. And now, we have the answer…
Even though the series had just finished its season-long run and was looking forward to getting production going on season two – Rose and Warner Bros. TV shocked the world on Tuesday when they announced her immediate departure from the role. Before the echo could fade, media outlets began to speculate about THE REAL reason both Rose and Warner Bros. had changed their plans for Batwoman so drastically. Well, when all is said and done it simply comes down to the workload.
With sources close to the production discussing the particulars with various outlets, it seems Rose became disillusioned with the workload which, in turn, caused a breakup between her and the production staff.
“It wasn’t 100-percent her decision,” a source told TV Line. “It was a breakup. She wasn’t happy working on the show, and did that make her fun to work with? No. So everyone decided it would be in the best interests of the show, and for all concerned if they parted ways. It just wasn’t a good fit.”
The search for her replacement now begins. Whether The CW can find a suitable replacement before production on season two is scheduled to begin remains to be seen. However, it is refreshing to hear the producers emphasize the need to cast a member of the LGBTQ community and continue to build upon the foundations built by the stellar first season.
So, who will be the new Bat in Gotham?
