However, McGregor appears to be leaving the door open for more adventures
After having it confirmed that Ewan McGregor‘s upcoming Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi series would be a limited standalone season, the actor has hinted that the door remains open for more adventures with the iconic Jedi Master.
While speaking to Entertainment Tonight about his upcoming road trip show with Charley Boorman, The Long Way Up McGregor briefly touched upon Kenobi and appeared to be keeping the door ajar for a potential return.
“Spring next year we start,” he revealed of production plans. “I’m really excited about it. It’s gonna be great, I think.”
And while fans are eagerly awaiting the return of another Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, McGregor noted there aren’t any plans, yet, for a second season of Obi-Wan.
“As I understand, it’s a standalone season,” he said. “We’ll see. Who knows?”
Very interesting. Should the Kenobi series go on to become another Star Wars juggernaut like The Mandalorian, perhaps somewhere down the line McGregor could be tempted to slip back into his Jedi robes once again. And that can only be a good thing!
Watch this space. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series begins shooting in Spring.
