The adorable droidsmith from The Rise Of Skywalker is coming home this October
Ask any Star Wars fan and they’ll say one of the best characters to emerge from Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker was the adorable little droidsmith Babu Frik. The mischievous alien with his quirky charm and iconic catchphrases quickly became a firm fan-favorite and soon, you will be able to own your very own version of the diminutive droidsmith thanks to Mattel.
The toy giant has been tasked with creating an all-new talking plush that has been sculpted to capture the essence of the character and featuring six-voice clips from the film, including his whoop of delight and formal introduction — “Hello, I Babu Frik.”
Check out the adorable image gallery below. But be warned – you’re gonna want one!
Okay, I officially want one. A few months back, I championed the cause for Babu Frik and Zorii Bliss to get their own Disney+ series – and this new plush only hammers it home. We need more Babu Frik in our lives! Nay, we demand more Babu Frik in our lives. It may but nothing more than a pipedream, but I’ll be ordering one of these adorable new plush’s (for research purposes of course) and sit him alongside Baby Yoda next to the Christmas Tree this year.
Be sure to head over to starwars.com for an exclusive interview with Mattel’s senior product designer Alexander Lathrop to learn more about how he and his team translated a few moments on screen into a tangible and adorable toy.
