The first trailer for the Mortal Kombat reboot has arrived and it delivers bloodthirsty fatalities, and flawless victories aplenty!

After what has seemed like an eternity, the debut trailer for the Mortal Kombat reboot has finally arrived. And it delivers a delightful feast of R-Rated fatalities and flawless victories that are sure to delight fans everywhere.

Mortal Kombat is set to debut in theaters and on HBO MAX on April 16, 2021, and it features a stellar cast charged with bringing the carnage to the screen. The cast includes Mehcad Brooks as Jackson “Jax” Briggs, Chin Han as Shang Tsung. Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Joe Taslim as Sub-Zero, and Tadanobu Asano as Raiden. Ludi Lin stars as Liu Kang, Sisi Stringer as Mileena. Josh Lawson stars as Kano, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, and finally Max Huang as Kung Lao Max. Lewis Tan joins the cast as an all-new character, Cole Young. Hold your breath and watch the trailer below:


In “Mortal Kombat,” MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage. Or why Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family’s safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with.

Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu KangKung Lao, and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high-stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family but to stop Outworld once and for all?’

The film appears to be bringing a true representation of the iconic video game to the screen and is already delighting fans with its R-Rating. Aside from the mindblowing action, the cinematography of this movie is off the chain and the visuals are nothing short of spectacular. Meaning we are in for one helluva rollercoaster ride when the movie finally hits our screens. And let’s face it. Who doesn’t want to see Sub-Zero unleashing his furious ice attacks?
