Ahmed Best dashes fan hopes and rules out the return of Jar Jar Binks in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series
Bad news Force fans, Jar Jar Binks won’t be returning in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Many of us have been hoping to see Ahmed Best reprising his role as the lovable Gungan. But sadly, the actor has confirmed that he won’t be playing any part in the “Special Event” series.

Taking to Twitter, the actor offered the star-studded cast his best wishes for the show. Although, he did reiterate his disappointment at not being involved in the project.
Although the Obi-Wan series has been described as a limited “Special Event” series, fans are hoping for more adventures alongside Ewan McGregor’s Jedi Master; with many calling for multiple seasons. But, with the actor’s schedule always busy and the commitment to producing such a monumental series weighted with fan expectation; maybe we are hoping for too much. But that won’t stop us from dreaming!

CAST
The cast list for the series a jam-packed with incredible talent. Alongside Ewan McGregor, the series boasts the talents of  Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie. And rounding out the cast and reprising his iconic role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader will be Hayden Christensen.

Exciting times ahead in the galaxy far, far away. And although Jar Jar Binks won’t be returning, the show promises to be one of the standout events on Disney Plus so far. And that is a tantalizing prospect.

I hated Jar Jar, but I would have welcomed him back in Kenobi to hopefully rehabilitate his character.
