The talent agency representing Michael Keaton has confirmed the actor will return as Batman / Bruce Wayne in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash
When news broke that Michael Keaton was in talks to return as Batman in The Flash, fans erupted with delight. The notion of Keaton reprising his iconic role was tantalizing. And when you add the return of Ben Affleck into the mix as well, the DC Universe was about to have all its Christmases come at once.
COVID
However, in recent months, the actor called his involvement in the movie into question after raising travel concerns. The sticking point was his unwillingness to travel to the UK, and expose himself to an explosion of Covid-19 cases. At the time, the UK was at a point of crisis with hospitals overwhelmed and confirmed cases skyrocketing. But in recent weeks, the UK’s vaccination program has turned the tide and the country is finally emerging from its most severe lockdown to date.
So where does that leave Michael Keaton?
Well, it seems that the actor is ready to don the cape and cowl again because his talent agency, ICM Partners has confirmed that he will be back as Batman in The Flash. That’s right, we can now celebrate and look forward to what will be a DC event of epic proportions. Michael Keaton is back as Batman/Bruce Wayne alongside Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen for what promises to be a game-changing, genre-defining movie.
Rounding out the cast is Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, and Ron Livingston who takes over the role of Henry Allen. And finally, Maribel Verdú joins the project as Nora Allen, Barry’s mother.
At long last. Batman Returns…again!
The Flash will release on November 4th, 2022.
