The Bad Batch ‘War-Mantle’ delivers another pivotal episode and features stunning visuals and brings back some old friends
It’s Friday so this means it’s time for our weekly dose of Star Wars with The Bad Batch! This episode is titled ‘War-Mantle.’ This week is a heavy episode with two big storylines. The first one is with The Bad Batch as they try to rescue Gregor on Daro. While the second is about the Kaminoans.
The Bad Batch storyline is action-packed, they are facing a lot of troopers! After all, they are infiltrating an imperial base to save a fellow clone. I like that we are seeing Gregor because it sets things up for what we see of him in Star Wars Rebels. It’s all connected! Republic Commandos are back in this episode with a small cameo of Scorch! More importantly, the Stormtroopers make their first appearance in this episode. And as we are nearing the end of the season, this episode ends with a big cliffhanger. Next week can’t come soon enough!
As for the Kaminoans, they are in a bad situation. Lama Su has finally realized it won’t be long until the Empire gets rid of them. The Empire doesn’t need the clones anymore (except special clones like the commandos) so they don’t need the Kaminoans anymore or at least, the ones like Lama Su who is simply a politician. It’s a very interesting storyline.
This episode is pivotal to the series with these two important events. It’s a turning point with the Empire finally using their Stormtroopers.
Daro is a brand new planet and it’s visually stunning! It’s a forest and rocky planet. Seeing this planet, I would surely love to see Endor in The Clone Wars animated style at some point! As for the Stormtroopers, we don’t see their final armor yet but a prototype. I love how it pays tribute to Ralph McQuarrie’s concept arts. Star Wars animation now has a tradition of reusing McQuarrie’s concept arts.
The Bad Batch delivers a pivotal episode featuring stunning visuals and bringing back some old friends.
