BOX ART AND ACCESSORIES

The box has the usual design for Star Wars Collectibles boxes – black with a picture of the figure and the Star Wars logo. The colored strip for The Rise of Skywalker figures is blue and grey. In that line, you can also find Rey, the Sith Trooper, the First Order Jet Trooper, and the Sith Jet Trooper. For these figures, they also brought back the additional picture at the back of the box. So far, Hot Toys had only done it for The Last Jedi figures.

This figure comes with interchangeable hands, a LED light-up helmet, a LED light-up lightsaber arm, Kylo’s cape; a display base, and a second option for the base. Since it doesn’t come with many accessories, it would have been great to also include the Wayfinder. The display base is the basic Imperial base. The second option is similar to what came with Obi-Wan Kenobi. It’s another interior ship.

THE FIGURE

I was waiting for the right Kylo Ren figure and this is definitely the one. I love the reforged helmet with these red marks. It has two modes for the LED light-up feature. The first one is a normal mode and the second is a breathing mode. This is beautiful!

His outfit is the same as The Last Jedi. The boots are made of plastic, while the belt is using faux leather. For the pants, they used the same material as tracksuits. So it’s quite soft. And for the upper body, they used two different types of fabric. He has a great articulation range even more so with the legs since it’s a tracksuit. He has over 30 points of articulation.

The cape works with magnets. And the hood has wires inside for better poses. Even though he doesn’t use the hood in the movie, it’s there and it looks great on the helmet.

THE HEADSCULPT

The headsculpt looked a bit off on the promotional pictures. However, the final product is perfect. It’s spot on Adam Driver. The likeness is incredible. We have to thank Eom Jae Sung (a.k.a GOX) for his headsculpt and JC Hong and E-Lee for the paint.
