Look out graverobbers because Lara Croft is back in an all-new Tomb Raider anime series for Netflix. What’s more, our hero will be voiced by the unconquerable Hayley Atwell. Based on the Square Enix action-adventure video game franchise; the new anime series will take place after the events of the rebooted video game series.
Anime series’ based on mega-franchises are all the rage these days. In recent months Transformers, Masters Of The Universe, and The Witcher have all returned to our screens in anime form. And now, Lara Croft becomes the next tentpole franchise to make the transition. And we cannot wait! We broke the news a few months back when we reported on a new anime treatment for King Kong titled Skull Island. So, be sure to check that out!
ANIME ADVENTURES
The Tomb Raider anime series will be written by Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Red Sonja). Dmitri M. Johnson (Sonic the Hedgehog), Stephan Bugaj, and Howard Bliss are all on board as producers. Aside from Atwell, no other casting news has been revealed. But make no mistake, with a talent as noteworthy as Hayley Atwell offering up her vocal talents, surely more big names will follow.
