All in all, Marvel’s What If…? has only continued to find ways to deliver more awesome surprises
For all of those who watched last week’s episode of What If…? and felt more than a little peeved I’ve got great news for you. The plot twist ending of that episode leads to what is undoubtedly the best episode of the series so far.
This week’s episode titled What If…Ultron Won? essentially proclaimed itself to be one of the darker episodes of the season. What I did not realize we were about to get was roughly thirty minutes of jaw-dropping storytelling that left my eyes wide for the first half of the episode. And my mouth agape for the second half.

A DARKER MCU
This show has stepped into a realm that’s revealing the true power of these characters and where the MCU is slowly leading us. I’ve had a sneaking suspicion that we’re getting more and more heroes introduced in the MCU because Marvel Studios is amping up the stakes and the future conflicts our Avengers will have to face. And this episode proved that yes, Thanos was only the tip of the iceberg compared to the true potential of the MCU’s antagonistic potential. And honestly, we already have two major contenders for the greatest (and most destructive) villains in the MCU lined up for Phase 4. The Scarlet Witch and Kang the Conqueror.
Plus, I’ve got to mention how much I loved seeing Hawkeye and Black Widow back together again in this episode. They were a duo we needed more of in the actual movies.

LOOKING AHEAD
All in all, this series has only continued to find ways to deliver more awesome surprises. And I couldn’t be more thrilled that we’re getting a second season. The finale is going to be incredible!
