“Hawkeye Episode 3 is an entertaining ride with a great introduction to Maya Lopez. Get ready for even more banter between Clint and Kate, the fun dynamic duo!”
Last week, Hawkeye started with a great 2-episode premiere. Now, it’s time for episode 3. The show will run until December 22, with one episode every Wednesday.
STORY

Episode 3 picks up where we left off last week continuing the adventures of Clint Barton and Kate Bishop. This one doubles down on the action. It’s so entertaining. As you can expect the action scenes involve a lot of arrows since it’s Hawkeye and there are a few surprises along the way!

I love the banter between Clint and Kate, it’s a lot of fun. Their dynamic is the heart of the series. It really gives me this feeling of a comic book story brought to life. And like I said in my review of the premiere, a lot of it has to do with Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld, they make a great team! I can’t get enough of them. This street-level superhero adventure is refreshing after all the magical stuff we recently got with the MCU. That’s also what makes this franchise the best, we get so many different genres of stories.
Beyond the action and the fun, this episode hits high on the emotional side as well. There are two short but really poignant scenes. I love the depth they’re giving to Hawkeye. It’s something they didn’t have time to do in the movies.
MEET MAYA LOPEZ

Maya Lopez/Echo is a well-known character from the comics. And I’m really glad she is now joining the MCU as they continue to improve on representation. Indeed, she is a Native American and deaf. Alaqua Cox has done a great job so far portraying this character. And she deserves even more praises considering it’s her first role.
This episode is a great introduction to Maya Lopez. It gives us her backstory, which is important to understand a character’s motivation. The writing team sure knows how to make us care about these new characters. Since the premiere, each new important character has been introduced in a meaningful way. With just one episode, I already care about Echo and I’m excited about her upcoming solo series!
