Sasaki and Miyano delivers another delightful episode. It knows how to keep the viewer hooked on the story and the characters.””

It’s Sunday so that means it’s time for the fourth episode of Sasaki and Miyano!

I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU NOT?

This episode takes place at the beginning of the new school year. In Japan, it starts in April unlike us in the West where it starts in August/September. Sasaki is in final year of High School while Miyano is in his second year. They haven’t seen each other since that scene in the train from the third episode.

Miyano still has doubts about what Sasaki told him in the train. But more importantly, he has doubts about himself. He knows he feels something for Sasaki. Though, he’s not sure what that means for him.

As for Sasaki, he has a hard time containing his feelings for Miyano. And it’s sad to see both of them suffer like this. Obviously, we are still at the beginning of the series so they can’t be together just yet. Nonetheless, we are all waiting for the moment it will happen later on this season.

BOYFRIEND IN TROUBLE

Despite all the drama building up, the comedic aspect of the series is still very much present. Indeed, we do get more awkward scenes between Sasaki and Miyano. The train scene is quite funny.

Though, most of the comedy in this episode comes from the situation between Ogasawara and his girlfriend. His girlfriend is a fan of BL and she actually sees him as a BL character which creates conflict between them. She’s the cliché of the excessive fan. And that’s also why I love this series. It’s self-referenced, which makes it even more amusing.

THE CAT

I haven’t mentioned this before but I do need to talk about the cat. He’s been there since the beginning appearing in one or two shots each episode. And he’s even in the end credits. In a way, he’s an integral character of the series even if he’s just in the background. It’s the extra dose of cuteness we all need!

VERDICT

Sasaki and Miyano delivers another delightful episode. It knows how to keep the viewer hooked on the story and the characters.

Sasaki and Miyano is now streaming on Funimation.
