The hotly anticipated new Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series will now have a two-episode season premiere on Friday, May 27th
Force Fridays are back! Disney Plus has confirmed the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars series has shifted release dates. Previously set to unleash the Force on May 25, the series has been moved back by two days and will now premiere on May 27. However, the news isn’t all bad.
The streamer has debuted an all-new announcement video with Obi-Wan’s alter ego Ewan McGregor. And the franchise legend revealed that the series will now enjoy a TWO EPISODE season premiere. Check out the official announcement below:
Could this mean that the first two episodes will headline the festivities at Star Wars Celebration? It’s entirely possible. And that prospect alone will make the pilgrimage to Anaheim all the more worthwhile.
The impromptu shift is most probably down to the mid-week clash with the streamers’ Marvel series. And having them go head to head would be detrimental to both properties. So it makes sense for Obi-Wan to take center stage on Force Fridays. And let’s face it. It’ll make the weekends all the more enjoyable with Obi-Wan Kenobi providing our Friday night entertainment.

The series brings the Force back to Disney Plus on Friday, May 27.
