The legendary filmmaker and author has been awarded the very first Ray Harryhausen Award. And he has been gracious enough to reveal its magnificence in an all-new unboxing video.
The incredible award has been cast by Arch Bronze foundry; the same craftsmen behind the prestigious Olivier Awards and looks more precious than all the Gods’ treasures. But don’t take our word for it. Let’s join John Walsh and take a closer look at this remarkable statue in all its glory. Plus, we’ll learn more about those all-important submissions dates. Check it out:

VANESSA HARRYHAUSEN
Ray’s daughter, Vanessa Harryhausen said of the awards “Dad always recognized the strong educational aspect of his work. I hope that these awards will encourage a new generation of animators to be inspired and follow their own dreams.”
A CENTENARY TO REMEMBER
Ray’s centenary year was a joy to behold. Thanks, in part to the Ray HarryhausenTitan Of Cinema exhibition at the National Gallery; which has now sadly closed its doors for the last time. But the event was an absolute triumph. If you missed the event, you can get some wonderful insights into the exhibition thanks to Vanessa’s new book – Ray Harryhausen: Titan Of Cinema which you can order here.
Be sure to check back and learn more about these prestigious awards in the coming months. You’ll never miss a thing with Future of the Force. And be sure to check out our exclusive interview with John Walsh here.
