Released back in 1997, the horror film ‘Event Horizon’ terrified audiences across the globe. Directed by Paul W.S Anderson, the film has become a cult classic over the past twenty-five years. The film boasted incredible special effects alongside a stellar cast that included Laurence Fishburne and Sam Neill. The science fiction chiller is to be released in a new steelbook edition to commemorate its twenty-fifth birthday. The set will come in two versions. The first is a 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray collector’s edition steelbook which comes in a slipcase and includes several pieces of bonus material inside. The second is a Zavvi exclusive limited-edition 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray steelbook which also comes in a slipcase but also boasts DolbyVision and HDR-10. Both editions will be released on August 8th.
THE SYNOPSIS
Seven years ago, the pioneering research spacecraft “Event Horizon” mysteriously vanished without a trace on its maiden voyage. But then, in the darkness of deep space, a persistent signal prompts a crew to make their way through the galaxy on a bold rescue mission. Infinite space delivers infinite terror in the horror cult classic EVENT HORIZON, celebrating its 25th anniversary with a new, 4K Ultra HD™ + Blu-ray™ Collector’s Edition SteelBook® on August 8, 2022, from Paramount Home Entertainment. This release includes an outer slipcase that houses the collectible SteelBook® in an acetate o-ring and a blueprint poster. Art cards, pin, and patch along with the film on 4K UHD™ and on Blu-ray™.
Directed by Paul Anderson (Resident Evil), EVENT HORIZON originally debuted in theaters on August 15, 1997, and has developed a large cult following over the ensuing 25 years. Known for its elaborate production design and unsettling visuals, the film features an exceptional ensemble cast, including Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix), Sam Neill (Jurassic World: Dominion), Kathleen Quinlan (Breakdown), Joely Richardson (“Nip/Tuck”), and Jason Isaacs (“Star Trek: Discovery”).
THE ZAVVI EXCLUSIVE LIMITED-EDITION 4K ULTRA HD + BLU-RAY STEELBOOK
Also available on August 8, 2022, is the Zavvi Exclusive Limited-Edition 4K Ultra HD™ + Blu-ray™ SteelBook® housed in an acetate o-ring, the feature film on a 4K Ultra HD™ disc with Dolby Vision™ and HDR-10.
