Disney Plus has released its glorious key art poster for Dan Trachtenberg’s Predator prequel PREY featuring an epic showdown between hunter and prey
With just over three weeks until the premiere of Dan Trachtenberg’s Predator prequel PREY on Disney+, the streamer has unveiled its glorious key art poster. Until now, fans of the franchise have fed their craving with the occasional new still and nugget of new information. But today, we are eating well with the new poster that features the new alien hunter in an epic showdown with its prey. Check out the glorious one-sheet below.
A NEW BREED OF PREDATOR
In a recent interview, director Dan Trachtenberg touched upon the new look of the Predator in PREY. Including why his version of the alien hunter is less bulky that its predecessors. And surprisingly, it’s all down to the evolution of the species. Or de-evolution considering that this movie is set 300 hundred years in the past.
“I wanted [the Predator] to be scarier than we’ve seen it before. It’s intelligent and it has advanced technology, and that makes it even more difficult to take on. But because the movie is set 300 years in the past, those things need to feel a little bit older than we’ve seen before, but also still far more advanced than what we think our earthlings would be able to handle. I wanted to make sure the head was more proportional to the body. This predator is much slimmer and less armored than it’s ever been. It’s more ‘creature’. It’s still hulking and ferocious.”
The newest entry in the “Predator” franchise, 20th Century Studios’ “Prey” is an all-new action- thriller set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago. It is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior who has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains. So when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.
