James Gunn has confirmed that preliminary meetings with Ben Affleck have taken place about the former caped crusader directing a new DC project
This is a monumental day for the DC Universe. Just minutes after James Gunn revealed that Henry Cavill will not be returning as Superman in the new DC Universe, the new head of DC Studios confirmed that preliminary talks with Ben Affleck had taken place. Not to return as Batman, however. Instead, Gunn and his partner Peter Safran have approached the former caped crusader about directing a future DC project – when something suitable arises.

Whilst many fans would rather see Affleck suit up as the Dark Knight again after his role in The Flash, it is refreshing to hear that he will help shape the future of the DC Universe. But which superhero could he bring to the screen? That remains to be seen. But with the future of the DC landscape reforming as we speak, the sky is the limit for Affleck’s next project.
