The reset at DC Studios continues as Dwayne Johnson confirms the future of Black Adam remains uncertain – for now!
Given the monumental changes happening behind the scenes at DC Studios, Dwayne Johnson has taken to social media amidst rising speculation about the future of Black Adam. James Gunn’s new-look DC Universe is beginning to take shape, and the changes are certainly raising a few eyebrows. After all, Wonder Woman 3 has been officially shelved, Henry Cavill is officially out as Superman, and sadly the future isn’t looking good for the Man in Black either.
After word had reached the wires that Kahndaq’s favorite son was set to be ousted from the new DCU, Johnson took to social media to clarify his position. And if you were hoping to see Teth Adam leading the DC Universe into a bold and brighter future, look away now!
IS KAHNDAQ’S FUTURE UNCERTAIN?
Sadly, the Man in Black has become the latest victim in the DC storm. In a heartfelt statement, Johnson confirmed that following meetings with James Gunn and Peter Safran, the new-look DCU will launch without Black Adam. For now! Thankfully, the door remains open for Kahndaq’s favorite son to return somewhere later down the line. But not for the foreseeable future. Read the full statement below.
THE FUTURE OF DC
Given Black Adam‘s divisive audience reaction and lackluster box office return, it comes as no surprise that James Gunn has hit the breaks. After all, the purse strings at DC have been spiraling out of control for some time. However, the reactions amongst DC fans have been polarizing. Some welcome the DC reset, while others abhor it. But one thing is for sure, the DC Universe is in desperate need of a guiding light to reach the promised land. And the Studio hopes that James Gunn is the right man for the job. But only time will tell.
So far, we know that a new Superman movie is already in development with a younger Man of Steel donning the famous suit. New characters will be enjoying their turn in the spotlight, and the pillars of DC will be returning with all new faces. Whether or not James Gunn can pull off the relaunch remains to be seen. But with a fanbase sitting on a tinderbox of scrutiny, he’ll need to hit the ground running…faster than a speeding bullet!
