There’s nothing like watching The Mandalorian and Grogu go on these epic adventures together.
After so long we’re finally here, the day of the third season premiere of The Mandalorian. *sigh*
It’s been a while since we’ve had new content featuring our favorite chrome-armored space dad and his uber-cute wrinkled green companion. Suppose we’re counting The Book of Boba Fett, which many began to call The Mandalorian 2.0 after he kind of hijacked Boba’s series for the latter half of the season. In that case, it’s been about a year since we’ve had Mando and Grogu providing us with boundless joy on our television screens. If you happened to skip that series then it’s been a very long time since The Mandalorian. In fact, Mando Season 2 came out in 2020. Just to post a reminder for those who haven’t realized how long we’ve had to wait.

PREMIERE
Because of that, this week’s premiere feels like we’re being teleported back to a time when being a Star Wars fan felt like you were the luckiest person in the world. The shared collective joy around watching The Mandalorian on Wednesdays has been one of the most fun parts of being on the internet in the last few years. And this week is no exception.
Becoming the shortest of the Mandalorian season premieres, this week’s episode was short but packed with classic Star Wars goodness. Giant monsters, Mandalorians, familiar and new aliens, droids, spaceship chases, and that classic Star Wars humor that’ll bring a smile to anyone’s face. And on top of that shining heap of joy is Grogu who seems to get cuter every season.

GROGU
Just when you think he can’t get any cuter Jon Favreau decided to have Grogu meet a Babu Frik-type character. The interaction has already become the glowing highlight of the season premiere, and for good reason. Four years ago when we were introduced to Grogu, then known as Baby Yoda, it was a moment in Star Wars history I’ll never quite forget. It wasn’t expected. It could’ve not worked. But Grogu was so unbelievably adorable that he took the world by storm and The Mandalorian set sail from there.

REUNITED!
There’s nothing like watching Mando and Grogu go on these epic adventures together. It’s a kind of seamless perfection that can only be equalized when Darth Vader appears onscreen. Seeing them again in this premiere was a reminder of why this series is as popular as it is and I can’t wait to see how their story continues to grow in the coming weeks.
The Mandalorian Season 3 is now streaming on Disney Plus.
