The second big-screen adaptation of Walt Disney’s theme park attraction of the same name will haunt theaters on July 28th. Are you brave enough to visit the Haunted Mansion?
After their first attempt to adapt the theme park ride of the same name back in 2003, twenty years later, Disney is hoping to scare audiences into theaters again with their upcoming Haunted Mansion. This new version features a terrific cast that features Jared Leto, Chase Dillon, Rosario Dawson, LaKeith Stanfield, Owen Wilson, Tiffany Haddish, Winona Ryder, Dan Levy, Danny DeVito, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
The reboot is directed by Justin Simien from a screenplay by Katie Dippold. The first teaser trailer and poster have been revealed. Let’s see what is being spirited up:
THE SYNOPSIS AND TEASER POSTER
A single mom named Gabbie and her 9-year-old son, who are looking to start a new life, move into a strangely affordable mansion in New Orleans, only to discover that the place is much more than they bargained for. Desperate for help, they contact a priest, who, in turn, enlists the aid of a widowed scientist-turned-failed-paranormal expert, a French Quarter psychic, and a crotchety historian to help exorcise the mansion.
