Josh Lucas will protect his family from a big ass shark when The Black Demon surfaces on April 28th

We here at The Future Of The Force do love a good old-fashioned shark attack movie. From Jaws through to The Meg, we can’t get enough of people being chomped on for foolishly invading the Deep Blue Sea (See what we did there?). While we wait for the release of The Meg 2: The Trench in August, our appetite for big-ass shark mayhem could be sated by the upcoming movie, The Black Demon.

Josh Lucas stars in the movie which is based on the Mexican legend. It looks to be a mix between Jaws, Deep Blue Sea, The Shallows, and The Meg. And it appears to be a movie that we can have a lot of fun with. Don’t believe me? The Signature Entertainment movie has had a trailer for it released. Hold your breath and your nerve as we swim in for a look:

THE STORY

Oilman Paul Sturges takes his family on vacation to Bahia Azul. There, the coastal town he and his wife once knew has mysteriously crumbled and the locals are nowhere to be found. Paul starts off his day with a routine visit to inspect his nearby oil rig, but before he knows it, his entire family has landed with him on the rotting metal tower. From the depths of the ocean rises a massive megalodon known only by its name: the Black Demon. Under constant threat from this primeval species of shark, Paul must find a way to get his family back to shore alive.

We will see if The Black Demon can add anything new to the shark attack movie genre when it surfaces in theaters on April 28th.

What do you think of the trailer? Do you think it looks to be an enjoyable film? Or do you think it’s something we’ve seen before? Swim down to the comments section to let us know!
