The Insidious franchise has grossed $542.9 million ever since it started back in 2011. With four films under its belt, a fifth movie was always on the cards. And on July 7th, we will be encountering the Lambert family again. Star Patrick Lambert is also behind the camera this time for his directorial debut, Insidious: The Red Door. Joining Lambert in reprising their roles are Rose Byrne as Renai Lambert, Ty Simpkins as Dalton Lambert, and Andrew Astor as Foster Lambert.
The new film has a screenplay by Scott Teems, based on a story and characters created by Leigh Whannell, who also produces alongside Jason Blum, Oren Peli, and James Wan. The film marks the final chapter for the Lambert family. The first trailer has today been released online after the poster for the film was debuted yesterday.
In Insidious: The Red Door, the horror franchise’s original cast returns for the final chapter of the Lambert family’s terrifying saga. To put their demons to rest once and for all, Josh (Patrick Wilson) and a college-aged Dalton (Ty Simpkins) must go deeper into The Further than ever before, facing their family’s dark past and a host of new and more horrifying terrors that lurk behind the red door.
