TIME OF CONTEMPT

And if that isn’t enough to have you betting the house in a game of Gwent; feast your eyes on the glorious new poster below.

RELEASE

This new trailer is spectacular and effortlessly raises the stakes from last season. Especially with the Wild Hunt’s presence looming over Geralt, Yennifer, and Ciri like a veil of doom. What’s more, the trailer revealed that the third season will be split into two parts, with the first debuting on June 29 and the second releasing on Netflix on July 27. So mark the dates in your calendar now.

The new season of the show is inspired by Andrzej Sapkowski’s Time of Contempt book series. And it will finally see our hero reckoning with his feelings after two seasons of steely, tough-guy detachment. Sadly, the trailer only gives us fleeting glimpses of each character. But it does reveal all three of our heroes searching for one another in the darkness. A metaphor perhaps? After all, this new season represents the end of an era as Henry Cavill will hang up his sword after its last episode with Liam Hemsworth slipping into Geralt’s shoes moving forwards. But with two glorious seasons to bookend, surely Henry Cavill will bow out with a flourish.
