The chosen one himself – Anakin Skywalker will be unleashing the Force on Fortnite in celebration of Star Wars Day
Star Wars Day is right around the corner and Fortnite is embracing the day in style. In the latest Star Wars x Fortnite collaboration, the chosen one himself – Anakin Skywalker will be unleashing the Force on the map. But the fun doesn’t end there because Epic Games will allow players to embrace the full power of the Force with a new range of mythic abilities.
Anakin Skywalker will debut in the game on May 2 with another new character rumored to drop on May 4th. So far, all the evidence points to the mystery character being Emperor Palpatine. But the recently decoded data mine also hints the Clone Troopers will also be deployed across the map. Palpatine makes sense considering the decoded mythic abilities include Force push, pull, jump, and lightning. The latter is primarily utilized by Palpatine and Count Dooku. But Star Wars fans will be salivating at the chance of deploying across the Fortnite map as a Clone. Maybe even Captain Rex (we can only hope.) Check out the reveal image below.
MAY 4th
Sadly, the image above is the only official confirmation of the collaboration. But it is a welcome gift from the Force. After all, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker were the last characters to be added to the map back in November. And many fans had hoped to see more new additions from the latest season of The Mandalorian that just wrapped up on Disney+. However, as the credits began to roll on the season finale, there was no sign of Bo-Katan Kryze, Moff Gideon, or even a Praetorian Guard.
But the debut of Anakin Skywalker, Emperor Palpatine, and the Clones will more than makeup for the disappointment. Especially if this sparks a deluge of Clone Wars-related characters. After all, who would want to run around as Jango Fett, General Grievous, Commander Cody, or Kit Fisto?
