Sony Pictures has dropped our first look at the logo for the Ghostbusters Afterlife sequel…and it’s glorious!
The team at Sony Pitcures has shared the stunning new logo for the upcoming Ghostbusters Afterlife sequel. We all hoped something special might be shared to commemorate the 39th anniversary of the release of the original movie. But never in our wildest dreams did we anticipate the release of the first poster for the sequel which is currently shooting in New York.
Keeping with tradition, the poster is completely black with the iconic logo front and center. But this time, the logo appears to be encased in either ice or ectoplasm. Could this be a hint of what we might expect to see in the sequel? That remains to be seen. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Charge up your proton pack and check out the glorious one-sheet below.
THE POSTER
McKENNA GRACE
And if the poster wasn’t enough to have us circling the room like Slimer at the Sedgewick Hotel. Afterlife star Mckenna Grace posted a video on TikTok that revealed the interior of the Firehouse, as well as the newly refurbished Ecto-1. Check it out below.

PRODUCTION
In addition to Mckenna Grace as Phoebe Spengler, the sequel which is codenamed FIREHOUSE also sees the return of Finn Wolfhard as Trevor Spengler, Carrie Coon as Callie Spengler, and Paul Rudd as Gary Grooberson. Also back in the saddle is Celeste O’Connor as Lucky Domingo, Logan Kim as Podcast, Dan Aykroyd as Raymond Stantz, and Ernie Hudson as Winston Zeddemore. And rounding out the cast are Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind. Sadly, there’s no word on whether the original Ghostbuster Bill Murray will be making an appearance. But with the core of the story returning to New York, surely he’ll be on hand to help guide the film home!
RELEASE
Initially, Jason Reitman was going to take the director’s chair. After all, he had captured lightning in a bottle with the last outing. But in a shocking twist, Gil Kenan has officially taken on the burden of steering the sequel to the screen. And he will be directing from a storyline penned by the duo. But can they do the unthinkable and deliver another win for the fans? That remains to be seen. But with the same team of creatives on hand to bring the project home, surely a sensational new adventure will greet us when Ghostbusters: Firehouse arrives in cinemas on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.
Are you excited about the sequel? Can the duo strike gold again and deliver the movie we’re waiting for? Sound off below with your thoughts.
