Prime Video has shared some glorious new key art for The Wheel of Time season 2 – streaming on September 1st
Just weeks after Prime Video announced the return of The Wheel of Time, the streamer has dropped the new key art for the new season. The exceptional fantasy series will return with all-new episodes on the 1st of September and will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.
Based on the best-selling series of novels by author Robert Jordan, the show will once again follow the journey of Rand al’Thor (Joshua Stradowski). Also starring Rosamund Pike, Daniel Henney, and Zoe Robbins, the second season looks to be as well received as the first. The first season is still available to watch in its entirety on Prime Video. We can catch up with events before the second season becomes available.
NEW KEY ART
To help set the tone for the spectacle that awaits us, our pals at Prime Video have sent over the glorious new key art for season two. And it effortlessly drags us back down the rabbit hole and gets us in the mood for more magic and spellcasting. But don’t take my word for it. Scroll down and check it out!
The first season followed Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the Aes Sedai, a powerful organization of women who can channel the One Power. Alongside her Warder, Lan, she sought a group of five young villagers from the secluded Two Rivers region of Andor following an attack on their village. She believes one of them to be the reincarnation of the Dragon, an extremely powerful channeller who broke the world. The Dragon Reborn is prophesied to either save the world from a primordial evil known as the Dark One or break it once more.
Prime Video has a lot of faith in the series. A third season of The Wheel Of Time has already been announced. And it isn’t hard to see why. The show has a lot going for it. With lots of material that can still be used from the novels, the show could run for several years yet and that is an exciting prospect.
Based on the best-selling Robert Jordan fantasy series The Wheel of Time, a humble farm boy, Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski, Gran Turismo), learns he is The Dragon Reborn—a dangerous figure from history destined to save the world … or break it. Desperate to protect him from the Dark One, an army of powerful sorceresses must reckon with his burgeoning power and encroaching madness. The Wheel of Time turns, and the Last Battle approaches. Though Rand thought he destroyed the Dark One, evil is not gone from the world.
In Season Two, threats new and very old seek out the young friends from the Two Rivers, now scattered over the world. The woman who found and guided them is now powerless to help, and so they must find other sources of strength. In each other, or themselves. In the Light … or the Dark.
The Wheel of Time also stars Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, I Care a Lot) as Moiraine Damodred, Daniel Henney (Criminal Minds) as Lan Mandragoran, Zoë Robins (Power Rangers Ninja Steel) as Nynaeve al’Meara, Madeleine Madden (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) as Egwene al’Vere, Marcus Rutherford (Obey) as Perrin Aybara, Dónal Finn (Rogue Heroes) as Mat Cauthon, and Ceara Coveney (Young Wallander) as Elayne Trakand.
The Wheel Of Time will spin again on Prime Video on September 1st.
