The King of the Monsters Returns in the Teaser Trailer for Toho’s Godzilla Minus One

Look out monster fans. Godzilla returns in the teaser trailer for Toho’s Godzilla Minus One – hitting Japan in November, and the U.S. in December
Last November, Toho blew our minds by announcing a new Godzilla project intended to hit cinemas in 2023. And today, the studio has shared the first teaser trailer for the project titled – Godzilla Minus One. Following its November 3rd release in Japan, the creature feature will receive a nationwide release in the United States on December 1st.
Written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, the early plot descriptions suggest the story “will see an already devastated postwar Japan facing a new threat in the form of Godzilla.” Check out the teaser below.
TAKASHI YAMAZAKI
Minus One will be Toho’s first effort since Shin Godzilla. The 2016 monster hit was made all the more spectacular by the special effects of Takashi Yamazaki. And Toho has tasked the filmmaker with bringing the new movie to our screens. It comes at a time when the Big Z is more popular with audiences than ever before. For the most part, that can be attributed to his stint in Legendary’s MonsterVerse, which Zilla shares with King Kong. But with Toho as the driving force behind the new project, monster fans will be salivating at the prospect.
In addition to the short teaser, the studio also shared the first poster for the project. And as expected, the glossy one-sheet features the King of the Monsters in all his glory.
RELEASE
So, the tail end of 2023 is looking like a bumper time for cinephiles and monster fans alike. And Godzilla will be leading the charge, and we are 100% here for it. What will transpire in Toho’s newest addition to the monster legacy remains to be seen. But you can bet your bottom dollar that Future of the Force will be here to bring you all the juicy details.
