On October 6th, grab your crucifix, get down on your knees and pray as The Exorcist: Believer will be unleashed!

Many people say that The Exorcist is the scariest movie ever made. Years ago, I would have agreed with you. Sadly, the years have diminished the shock value the film contains. But it does remain an excellent scarer that still has the power to make you jump. Two sequels followed the original film, neither of which was very good, despite starring some big names like Richard Burton and George C. Scott. But could The Exorcist be making a big comeback during its 50th anniversary year?

That’s the hope of Universal Pictures and Blumhouse. October 6th sees the first film in a planned trilogy of new films being released. The Exorcist: Believer looks to be a terrific throwback to the 1973 original, with scares galore and various nods to the first movie. Ellen Burstyn’s return to the franchise after the original movie compounds this. The franchise has also released a new trailer. Grab your crucifix, pray, and beware of pea-green soup as we take a look.
