Chris Pratt voices the Lasagne-loving feline in the trailer for Sony Pictures The Garfield Movie. Hitting screens in 2024.
Hide the Lasagne, Garfield is back! The pasta-loving, Monday-hating feline is returning to cinemas in 2024. Sony Pictures is bringing us The Garfield Movie. The film is an animated comedy based on Jim Davis’ comic strip. Columbia Pictures was not the sole producer of the film. Alcon Entertainment and DNEG Animation co-animated the film. Sony Pictures Releasing took care of the distribution. Chris Pratt voices the title character with support from Samuel L. Jackson as Vic, Garfield’s father, Nicholas Hoult, Ving Rhames, Cecily Strong, Bowen Yang, Brett Goldstein, and Hannah Waddingham. The first trailer for the film has been released. Let’s see if Garfield makes us purr.
PRODUCTION CREDITS
After 20th Century Fox’s licence with Paws, Inc. expired in 2009, a new version of the character has been on the drawing board. After several attempts to make a new film, Columbia Pictures stepped up to the plate to make a new animated movie. Mark Dindal directs the new version, with David Reynolds as the screenwriter. The film is based on Jim Davis’ Garfield and is produced by John Cohen, Steven P. Wegner, Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Tom Jacomb, and Namit Malhotra.

The Garfield Movie will be theatrically released on May 24, 2024.
