And after what has seemed like an eternity, fans can finally look forward to adding him to their collections. What’s more, Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Commissioner Gordon, Riddler, and Joker all get new sculpts. And they are a shoo-in to shoot straight to the top of every Batman fan’s wishlist. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Slide down the bat poles and explore these sensational new figures.
BATMAN
From The New Adventures of Batman animated series from the 1970s comes this Batman action figure! The DC Retro Wave 9 Batman The New Adventures of Batman 6-Inch Scale Action Figure stands 6-inches tall with 12 points of articulation. Batman includes a Batarang and Bat-radio. The Caped Crusader comes packaged in a card backed blister with the iconic old school look of the 1960’s Batman series.
A playboy billionaire by day, Bruce Wayne’s double life affords him the comfort of a life without financial worry, a loyal butler-turned-guardian and the perfect base of operations in the ancient network of caves beneath his family’s sprawling estate. By night, however, he sheds all pretense, dons his iconic scalloped cape and pointed cowl and takes to the shadowy streets, skies and rooftops of Gotham City.
ROBIN
From The New Adventures of Batman animated series from the 1970s comes this Robin action figure! The DC Retro Wave 9 Robin The New Adventures of Batman 6-Inch Scale Action Figure stands 5 1/2-inches tall with 12 points of articulation. The Boy Wonder includes a Bat-radio and Batarang. Robin comes packaged in a card backed blister with the iconic old school look of the 1960’s Batman series.
Acrobat Dick Grayson was the youngest member of his parents’ death-defying circus act. But after their cold-blooded murder, Dick vowed revenge. Seeing a genuine piece of himself in the boy, Batman took him in – and gave him a better outlet for his anger. Becoming Batman’s protege, Robin is an expert fighter and astounding acrobat – with the toughest example in the world to live up to. But the Boy Wonder’s true strength may lie in not being Batman – and providing a beacon of hope and family throughout the Dark Knight’s crusade.
BATGIRL
From The New Adventures of Batman animated series from the 1970s comes this Batgirl action figure! The DC Retro Wave 9 Batgirl The New Adventures of Batman 6-Inch Scale Action Figure stands 5 3/4-inches tall with 12 points of articulation. Barbara Gordon includes a Batarang and Bat-cuffs. Batgirl comes packaged in a card backed blister with the iconic old school look of the 1960’s Batman series.
The mean streets of Gotham City have a number of guardian angels watching over them. And one of the first – the young woman who turned the Dynamic Duo into the Batman family – was Batgirl. Barbara Gordon has always existed between two worlds: her life at home as the only daughter of Police Commissioner James Gordon and her life swinging from gargoyles as an associate of the Dark Knight.
THE JOKER
From The New Adventures of Batman animated series from the 1970s comes this Joker action figure! The DC Retro Wave 9 The Joker The New Adventures of Batman 6-Inch Scale Action Figure stands 6-inches tall with 12 points of articulation. The criminal clown includes a newspaper accessory. The Joker comes packaged in a card backed blister with the iconic old school look of the 1960’s Batman series.
No name strikes terror into the hearts of Gotham City’s citizens quite like the Joker. In a city overrun with larger-than-life criminals, the always-laughing villain stands alone. A complete psychopath with no moral compass whatsoever, the Joker, whose real name and identity remain completely unknown, is characterized by his chalk-white skin, green hair and a permanent rictus grin stretched across his face. But there isn’t a single thing funny about this particular clown, who only finds humor in the suffering of others.
THE RIDDLER
From The New Adventures of Batman animated series from the 1970s comes this Riddler action figure! The DC Retro Wave 9 The Riddler The New Adventures of Batman 6-Inch Scale Action Figure stands 6-inches tall with 12 points of articulation. He includes his signature question mark cane. The Riddler comes packaged in a card backed blister with the iconic old school look of the 1960’s Batman series.
Possessing a genius-level intellect, the Riddler creates elaborate, sometimes Rube Goldberg-esque traps, and is even willing to use innocent civilians as bait. Although not physically imposing, the Riddler’s brilliance, neurosis and lack of empathy make him an incredibly dangerous foe. He cares very little – if at all – about the lives of those he uses in his plots and instead only sees them as disposable pawns in his continuing intellectual battle against Batman.
COMMISSIONER GORDON AND BAT-MITE
